When we arrived on Friday evening, the place was heaving and all 3 floors of the abandoned warehouse were buzzing. Think dark lighting, huge industrial rooms filled with clouds of smoke and aromas, and whisky roulette.
While R kept things simple with a hot dog (yawn) me and Z headed straight for Boom Burger for a feast of Jamaican fares before moving on to devour our body weights-worth of nibbles.
Beef & jerk chicken sliders, fish fritters & plantain fries. Possibly the best burgers I've ever tasted (a bold claim) - chilli and bacon jam was another level and the plantain fries equally more-ish. The bucket-sized mojitos don't hurt either.
Pachos (indian nachos) - poppadoms, mint & cumin riatha, coriander salsa & mango and a Chicken satay burger.
Once we could walk (and eat) no longer we admitted defeat and headed into Covent G for cocktails at Flesh & Buns. Despite my good intentions to do something with the weekend, inevitably Saturday and Sunday have been spent nursing Friday's food coma, perusing the local market and lazing in bed.
I'm not even sorry.
